The Icelandic reindeer has been recognized by Safari Club International as a distinct species from the European reindeer. So, there is now a new name for the avid reindeer trophy collectors to add to their lists..

Reindeer hunting takes place in the highlands in the east of Iceland, in an area to the west of Egilsstadir which reaches to the foot of the Vatnajökull glacier. The hunting area is strictly controlled and is accessible only by our clients. Hunting takes place under the guidance of local guides who normally takes one or two clients at a time. They know the area intimately and have managed the reindeer herds for years.

We ask those who are interested in coming hunting reindeer in Iceland to contact us before January as we need all information from you to enter the draw for tag for your Reindeer trophy. The draw is held in February each year and then we will know if you were successful or not having a reindeer for that same year.  You need to have a reindeer tag in your own name to be allowed to hunt reindeer in Iceland.
